Robert Scinto: He Built It, and They Came

Robert Scinto not only takes his name from his father, but also his work ethic and passion for helping people. He takes great pride in deals well struck, and even greater pride in contributing to his community. His drive and ambition are two of his most striking characteristics. He not only runs his family's business alongside his father, Bob Scinto, and sister Katie, but strives to see it grow and diverse as it transitions in the coming years.

Though he has shadowed his father and grown to help expand his business, Robert Scinto has always had to work to earn his keep. As a young fifth grader, when he wanted a skateboard, he was told he would have to buy it himself. Energized by the challenge, he worked all summer in the maintenance department, helping with utilities and changing lightbulbs and such. It was challenging work for a such a young man, but Robert took it in stride. He even had to give two-week's notice to leave the position once he'd earned the money.

Ever summer since then, Robert Scinto has worked in a variety of positions R. D. Scinto Inc, including in foundations and excavating, in which Scinto holds his fondest memories and experiences. Even today he stops by to lend a hand in excavation on his free mornings and Saturdays.

Since graduating Iona College, Robert has devoted himself to R. D. Scinto Inc full time, working closely with his father, Bob Scinto. Now he has come full circle, from working his way up the chain of command every summer and having responsibility for direct reports, to now working directly with tenants. He currently leases many of the buildings of R. D. Scinto Inc and is spearheading many exciting new projects, including a 280,000 square foot office building in Fairfield County. In another project nearby, he is building 8 loading docks, among other new additions, into a new complex. Truly, Robert Scinto is a man who follows his visions through.

What keeps Robert going through his long days and hard work is in knowing that he is an integral part of the drive of his entire company, and an integral part of the business that is as much a part of him as his family.
